About Us
Nicholas J. Montalto, Jr, MD
is a Board Certified Obstetrician Gynecologist. He is a New York native and was raised in Niskayuna, New York. Dr. Montalto completed his Ob-gyn residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University. He has advanced training in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, office based tubal sterilization, fertility, and management of urinary incontinence. Kari Perrine Roe, MS FNP-BC
Kari Perrine Roe received her Masters degree in Nursing from Binghamton University in 2001 and is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Kari has provided comprehensive women’s health care in the community since 2001 which includes annual exams, health maintenance screening and treatment, STI screening and treatment, contraceptive management, and perimenopausal/postmenopausal management. Leslie Berlinsky, RDMS, Sonographer
Leslie Berlinsky is a board certified diagnostic medical sonographer (RDMS) . She earned her degree in Radiologic Technology from Hudson Valley Community College and completed a post graduate course in “The Techniques of Special Procedures” at Albany Medical College. Leslie has been practicing in the Albany – Troy area for 20 years and has specialized in obstetrical and gynecological sonography for the last 7 ½ years. Recently, Leslie acquired her certification in “nuchal translucency” sonography. This is a non-invasive ultrasound exam that in combination with blood work, is used in the screening for Down Syndrome. She is now happy to be working with Dr. Nicholas Montalto and staff at Albany Gynecology and Fertility and to be part of the CNY family. As part of her commitment to the field of sonography, Leslie is a volunteer exam reviewer with the American Insti tute of Ultrasound in Medicine, a national organization that accredits hospitals, labs and private practices in the performance of quality sonography. Crystal Sauca, RN
Crystal has worked in the field of gynecology and fertility for 22 years. She assists with patient care by performing blood draws, medication administration, patient education and assisting with medical procedures. She also monitors patients in stimulation cycles by performing transvaginal ultrasounds and intrauterine inseminations. Crystal graduated in 1984 from Maria College in Albany and joined the Albany Gynecology and Fertility practice in December 2007 and is pleased to be part of the team. Kathleen Perez, RN
Katie is a graduate of Albany Memorial School of Nursing and has found woman’s health care to be her passion. Katie performs blood draws, prepares specimens for IUI and assists in monitoring patient’s stimulation cycles. Katie also prepares patients for GYN exams and assists the doctor in in-office procedures. Prior to joining the team at Albany Gynecology & Fertility, Katie was employed by Bellevue Woman’s Care Center on the postpartum floor. Katie joined Albany Gynecology & Fertility in October of 2008. Donna Burke, Receptionist
Donna works checking in and out patients as well as scheduling appointments. Donna calls on insurance companies for authorization for services. She also does various duties thought out the office. Kelly Scheffler, Receptionist
Kelly joined Albany Gynecology and Fertility in February, 2009. In addition to welcoming patients and scheduling appointments, she obtains insurance benefit information to assist patients in their health care decision making.
